“JACKSONVILLE — In a major college admissions scandal that laid bare the elaborate lengths some wealthy parents will go to get their children into competitive American universities, federal prosecutors charged 2 Jacksonville residents Wednesday in a brazen and and bizarre scheme to buy spots in the freshman class at the University of North Florida.
One of the indicted residents, a CSX executive, was quoted as saying, “What do you expect? You don’t think I’m going to let my kid go to school with the peasants as FSCJ, do you?”
