New: Sohrab Homi Fracis Reading (11/9): The Word by Word Reading Series is proud to welcome Sohrab Homi Fracis. In his new novel, Go Home, Fracis writes about the experiences of an Indian college student in America and the classic rock scene in 1981. His short story collection, Ticket to Minto, won the prestigious Iowa Short Fiction Award. He is also one of UNF’s finest alums. A Q&A and book-signing will follow his reading, which will be Wednesday, November 9, 7-8PM, Student Union/3806, UNF. No charge for admission.
This coming weekend: Jax by Jax 2016: Nov. 12, 3-6 p.m. (with after party and book signing.) 12 venues will feature 24 writers. Festival goers may begin the afternoon in whichever venue they choose and are encouraged to listen to as many writers, in as many venues, as they wish. Read more

EAT Poems #13: SEASON OF THE DEAD by Andy Rojas. Andy Rojas was born in Cuba, came to the U.S. at age 13, and has lived in Jacksonville since 1983. Currently the poetry editor for Compose, he holds an M.F.A. and J.D. from UF and works for the US Dept. of the Treasury. His poems have most recently appeared/are forthcoming in Barrow Street, Colorado Review, Massachusetts Review, New England Review, and Notre Dame Review. Season of the Dead
