The other day while cleaning my teeth, my dental hygienist asked me who I was going to vote for in the August 14th primary. She and I always talk politics, though it’s often a one-way conversation. Since I live in Senate District 4, where Aaron Bean and Mike Weinstein are running, I tried to answer. But my tongue was jammed up; her fingers were probing my teeth; and saliva was filling my mouth. So the best I could manage was “eeeen.” “What?” she said. “What’s that? Bean? or Weinstein?” “Eeen” I repeated. “Eeeen . . . eeeen . . . eeen.”
Aaron Bean and Mike Weinstein call many times a day. On my land line. On my cell phone. If I base my vote on who calls most, it’d be Bean.
Mr. Editor, please inform the Bean and Weinstein campaigns they are spending too much time wooing little-ol’-me. Phone calls all day long. It’s not like I’m going to decide the race. There’s lots of other voters. So, Mr. Editor, could you pass the word: let someone else have some of the calls. Really. It’s only fair. Because all their calls are driving me crazy! But if I get one more call from them, I’m voting for Nancy Soderberg of the Party in Remission. Why? Because she never calls. Mr. Editor, tell them it’s nothing personal. Tell them, call me maybe. But, more like, call me maybe, NOT! Not at all!
Mr. Editor, pass along these inspirational tunes. They might help them remember my message:
